North Staffordshire Chamber and local design development consultancy, Haughton Design, will be encouraging local manufactures to be more innovative, at the upcoming North Staffordshire Manufacturing Group (NSMG) networking event.
On the 21st March at the North Staffordshire Chamber David Mills, Haughton Design’s Managing Director, will be speaking about the benefits that investment in design can bring. The Design Council estimate that “for every £100 a business spends on design, turnover increases by £225.” New Product Development is an effective tool for manufactures, which can stimulate business growth and regional employment.
Ian McLaughlan, Business Development Manager at North Staffs Chamber said “The manufacturing sector is undergoing a renaissance and there are so many successful local companies to be proud of. However, to remain cutting edge, business will need to invest in things like product design. This event will be a great place to start.”
During the breakfast meeting Mills will take attendees through the design development process, demonstrating how to achieve the best return on investment. Previous projects from Broxap and Terrafix will highlight how design has benefited the company.
Improving business conditions and support for manufacturers from the Design Council and MAS means now is an excellent time for companies to action new product development.
