New Product Development Event

Haughton Design will be championing regional innovation at the upcoming Business Innovation Centre’s networking event focusing on New Product Development. The event will encourage attendees to successfully exploit their new ideas by proving the market potential and understanding the product development process.

12 – 2 pm 19th July 2012

Sutherland Institute, Longton, Stoke on Trent

After the success of last year’s new product development networking event, Haughton Design will return to detail the design and engineering stages of new product development. Advice will also be available from Arvada Strategic Marketing and a tour of 3D Creation Laboratory Prototyping Facilities.

Haughton Design’s Managing Director, David Mills, revealed “We have seen an increase in entrepreneurs looking to exploit their ideas, however very few have a full understanding of the necessary steps required to successfully launch a new product. Before product development begins it is essential to establish if there is a market for the product by creating a sound business case before moving forward. It can be very expensive to invest in design and engineering, if there is no market for the finished product. This event is a great opportunity to really get to grips with what is involved with creating a successful product and what help is available locally.”

This unique event will allow attendees to find out how to prove their idea will work; which local organisations and how to fund this proof of market and concept stage.

  • How to Prove there is a Market for your new product idea
  • Using CAD Design to prove the concept
  • Producing 3D prototypes from intricate jewellery to architectural scale models
  • Current funding opportunities for your new product idea
