New product development remains a crucial element in the marketing mix

New product development, NPD, is the business process for developing new hardware, software and service products for the enterprise. It includes all activities from development of the idea or concept for the product, the development of the product and its processes, to the launch of the product into production and into the market place.

This interactive presentation and workshop will investigate NPD, using examples and a case study. Developing and launching successful new products is a key value driver. Successful innovation requires a particular and dedicated approach that is not always recognised by companies, even those that understand that with new products they will stay competitive.

The event will comprise of two presentations followed by a workshop that will provide the latest insights.
The real-life case study and interactive workshop will introduce and develop best-practice and include examples for all delegates to apply.

The event will open with a presentation by Mike White, from Arvada Strategic Marketing, on the ‘strategic and planning processes of NPD’ which will include showing how NPD successfully grows companies. This presentation will include video clips and case studies.

Lisa Wolseley-Hext – design development consultant and Megan Raisbeck – marketing and communications - from leading Midlands design development consultancy, Haughton Design, will introduce delegates to:
‘An appreciation of the design process and how important it is for marketing to work with the designers to deliver a new product’.

The event will then continue with a workshop led by Mike White based on a marketing communications exercise for small groups. This will offer additional insights into using and applying NPD plus important group interaction and dynamics as well as group work and involvement.

The event will conclude with a Q/A session chaired by Jonathan Nason.
